Venetian Haze, 1901, by Lucien
Whiting Powell, the canvas measures
30 by 40 inches and is housed in its
original frame.  $22,000.  Powell was
born in Upperville, Virginia and was
known to have served as a calvary
officer during the Civil War.  After
that he became one of Washington
DC's best known artists and a
favorite of President Teddy Roosevelt.
